Heartfelt Anniversary Session
Jordan and Katie's heartfelt anniversary session was published on Adorn Magazine! This beautiful duo is one of my favorite couples I've ever been lucky enough to work with. They're super laid back, patient & willing to try any ideas I had (like waiting minutes on end just so some clouds could past and we could take a double exposure), stylish, and so fun. So, so many contagious laughs. That's one of the things I really enjoy about engagement sessions; when our time spent together truly feels like quality time laughing and get to know someone. And an additional bonus that I've found that most of my couples have: they appreciate the film photography medium and are usually some form of a creative, themselves. For example, Jordan here is a graphic designer!
Their wedding was in November of 2016, and instead of the engagement session that came in their wedding package, they asked if they could substitute that engagement session for an anniversary session. If you weren't already aware, all of my wedding photography collections are customizable and that is absolutely a possibility. So after their awesome Agave Estates wedding, we set a tentative date for November of 2017 for their anniversary session. When the date was getting closer, we confirmed and decided to shoot at Hermann Park. As a general rule, I only shoot portrait sessions on weekdays. Portrait sessions take place on weekdays for several reasons 1) there are far fewer people out and about on a weekday, which mean fewer people in your photos. 2) Your whole day is dedicated to this shoot, whether it be an engagement session, an anniversary session, bridal session, or boudoir session. There's no burden of having to rush home from work, do your hair and makeup, get dressed up, and driving to a mutual location for your session (and hoping there's still enough good light to shoot in). You get to spend the whole day getting ready & pampered, taking your time getting where you need to be, and you have the ability to utilize the best light available that day. Win/ win! 3) My weekends are largely dedicated to weddings, so I'm typically unavailable.
I'm so humbled that Adorn chose to feature this work, because these people and our time spent together was truly memorable. Swing by the feature if you get a chance!
